Ultra race story

The kit.. my load / my saviour

Tell me one ultra runner who doesn't obsess over kit quality & weight.. and rightly so

Ultra kit becomes personal because every gram has to earn its place. The right vest, light, layer and emergency backup are not just products on a checklist. They are the things you trust when the route gets long, wet and lonely.

On the South West Coast path, Storm Chandra turned preparation into something very real. Kit quality mattered because tired hands need simple systems. Weight mattered because every climb asked the same question again.

The lesson is familiar to any ultra runner: obsessing over kit is not vanity. It is how you protect your race, your rhythm and your ability to keep moving when the weather changes the plan.
